KEN YEAGER

Founder/President

Ken has over 30 years of experience in the laboratory casework industry and formed Sydney Science in 2007. His first position was as a field foreman and he has since built a company with a reputation for performing quality work, delivered on time with a close eye on the budget. Ken is supported by a team of highly-qualified construction professionals, and he prides himself on running an honest and reliable company dedicated to its customers and employees. Ken's years of industry experience have taught him that strong relationships yield exceptional results, and are a core reason that much of Sydney's business is with repeat customers. Ken remains a hands-on leader who is involved in planning and overseeing all aspects of the organization, always striving to exceed client expectations. Fun Fact(s): Ken is a passionate and dedicated sailor, often participating in local races like the Leukemia Cup Regatta in Newport, RI or chartering boats to sail down to the Caribbean. Ken enjoys spending time with his two children, four grandchildren, and a great group of friends.

JILL BALASCO

Senior Project Manager

With nearly a decade of commercial construction experience, Jill has been serving Sydney Science as its lead Project Manager since 2016. She graduated at the top of her class from Norwich University in 2012 and was awarded the Scholar Athlete award during her collegiate Lacrosse career. Jill brought with her extensive experience managing large crews, schedules, budget control, procurement, and communicating with all key players on multiple simultaneous projects. She possesses strong leadership and management skills and believes a project’s success is directly related to building strong relationships with co-workers, vendors, general contractors and clients. Jill offers a mix of creative and technical expertise to our company objectives to ensure consistent project success and has been integral in the successful completion of more than 250 projects in the bio-pharm, education, and healthcare industries.
 
Fun Fact (s): Jill enjoys time spent with her family at their vacation home in New Hampshire. There she can disconnect from the stresses of life and enjoy boating, skiing, hiking and anything else that gets her outside and moving. Jill is also an avid New England Patriots fan.

REESE SHANLEY

Project Manager

Reese Shanley graduated from the Wentworth Institute of Technology with Bachelor of Science in Architecture. She has 12+ years of management experience, with 2+ years specifically in a laboratory setting. 
 
Fun Fact(s): Reese loves traveling, going to concerts, spending time at home baking, and playing with her two cats, Krug and Keller.

TED GIBSON

With 40+ years of experience in outfitting laboratories, Ted has a vast list of successful clients and contacts in pharmaceutical, medical and higher-education facilities. He was introduced to the laboratory casework industry at a young age, eventually taking over the very successful family business, Gibson Associates, which he ran for over 25 years. After a 3-year hiatus from the industry, Ted joined the Sydney Science team where his responsibilities include account management, customer relations and new business development. With his expertise in the casework, fume hoods, and specialty laboratory equipment trades, Ted is able to achieve desired results by going above and beyond to make our clients’ projects highly functional and financially within reach. His level of knowledge is well-known and respected by decision-makers throughout the Northeast.  Ted has participated in thousands of projects, and melds professional integrity, market knowledge and strong long-term client relationships to optimize opportunities, deliver results and meet strict deadlines in competitive marketplaces.
 
Fun Fact(s): Ted enjoys fishing and just about any other outdoor sport as well as spending time with his tight-knit family and relaxing at his quiet lakefront cottage in the mountains of Maine.

BRIAN MOATS

Estimating Manager

Brian joined the Sydney Science team in 2015 and has over twenty years of valuable experience providing estimating services in laboratory casework related trades. Utilizing his communication skills to build and maintain great working rapport, Brian has established relationships with design professionals, general contractors and essential vendors. He understands the art of product, plan reading, and take-offs better than anyone and has been lead estimator on a wide variety of projects from the most simple to complex, multi-component interiors. Brian’s pre-construction and estimating skills prepare the project on the front-end to ensure our teams are prepared to move the project through to completion. With his energy, enthusiasm and expertise, Brian has played a key role in the success of Sydney Science.
 
Fun Fact(s): Brian enjoys hiking, boating, trout fishing, home improvement projects, music concerts and music festivals.

ADAM RIEMENSCHNEIDER

Adam joined the Sydney Science team at the start of 2024 with previous construction experience doing sales, estimating, and project management. 
 
Fun fact(s): Adam loves spending time on the lake boating, going to the gym,  golfing, and hanging out with friends and family.

NANCY MCCARTY

Operations, Finance & Sales

Nancy joined the Sydney Science team to drive the general development of the company.  She brings a background in business management, finance and marketing, and utilizes those skills in the day-to-day operations at Sydney Science. Her experience with international construction software development serves as a foundation to the laboratory casework industry, as she has a thorough understanding of relational support to guide a project from proposal to completion. 
 
Fun Fact(s): Nancy is an avid reader, writer, animal lover, 3-season bicyclist, and accomplished musician.

RYAN BALDUCCI

Project Foreman

Ryan has been a Foreman with Sydney Science since its establishment in 2007 and has over twenty years of experience as a Local 24 Carpenters Union member and in running laboratory casework installations across the New England region and beyond. Ryan is a dependable, meticulous, goal-driven and solutions oriented Project Foreman with the resourcefulness and technical aptitude required to progress project milestones, guarantee satisfied clients and finish projects ahead of schedule. Ryan’s job involves a significant amount of coordination between field staff and office personnel and his document control and communication skills are unmatched. In his tenure with Sydney, Ryan has managed over five-hundred projects including some of our largest installations and has trained over forty apprentices.
 
Fun Fact(s): Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and three girls, riding his motorcycles, and watching sports. He is also passionate about his carpentry trade and spends much of his time off on little household projects.

CHRIS SMITH

Project Foreman

Chris has also been a Foreman with Sydney Science since its’ establishment in 2007. He has been a member of the Local 336 Carpenters Union for nearly twenty years and has been installing science labs all the while. Chris is well-versed in prioritizing and managing heavy workloads and seeing projects through to completion. He possesses talent to motivate and work with people at all levels of carpentry through established credibility, trust and respect. With over five-hundred projects under his belt and familiarity with common practices and safety protocols for all of the industry-leading construction managers, Chris has built many lasting and strong relationship and interfaces with his teams regularly to ensure satisfactory progress and workmanship.
 
Fun Fact(s): Chris and his family spend much of their time outside in the great outdoors on their six-acre plot in Western Massachusetts. Together they enjoy camping, hiking, and fly fishing.
