"I had the pleasure of working with Sydney Science and Ken Yeager at the University of Massachusetts, Boston Integrated Science Complex, a 260,000 sf academic and research laboratory building, which was complete in 2014. Sydney was originally the installer under a lab casework subcontractor, hired by Walsh Brothers, Incorporated. The original lab casework subcontractor went out of business, then the assigned lab casework subcontractor went out of business, after which Walsh Brothers hired Sydney directly to finish the project. They did a great job under very difficult circumstances. Their attention to detail was great, with very few punchlist issues given the complexity of the project. They headed off a number of problems with timely RFIs and good advice. They proved to be a great resource when interaction with equipment suppliers was necessary to solve startup problems or when making late changes. Their field teams were always adequately staffed and lead by competent field supervision. They hit every deadline except for those occasions when the lab casework subcontractor did not deliver per agreed committed dates. Sydney relied on their network of vendors and suppliers to provide materials and equipment when the lab casework subcontractor could not deliver. In the future, I would be happy to work with Ken and his team on any lab casework project large or small."
